What's the difference between a posted transaction vs. a pending transaction?

Modified on Fri, 26 Sep, 2025 at 3:47 PM

A Pending Transaction is a charge that has been authorized but hasn’t fully processed yet. You might see it in your LoadPay transaction history shortly after making a purchase, but the final amount could still change (for example, if a tip is added or a hold is released).

A Posted Transaction is a charge that has fully processed and is now final. Once a transaction is posted, it will no longer change and is considered settled.

Need to dispute a charge?

You can only dispute a transaction after it has posted. If you see a charge you don’t recognize and it’s still pending, wait until it posts—then contact LoadPay Support and we’ll help you file a dispute.
